Treasury Of The Church Museum Saint Martin, Altdorf
Since November 1982, the valuable treasury of the Church Saint Martin is on display and open to the public in the shelter for cultural assets in the parish centre in Altdorf.
Consequently, the treasury of the church has become one of the most distinguished sights of Uri's capital village. Great importance was attached to a dignified presentation, since objects are concerned which still today are being used during church services. The treasury of a church is not only an accumulation of golden and silver precious objects. Far beyond the materialistic and artistical value, a sentimental expression of Christian piety and deep admiration of what takes place in the church daily is inherent in these pieces. One can virtually feel the firm belief of the artists that only the best is good enough in their works to praise and honour the Almighty.
The museum is closed at the moment. The re-opening will be published in the media in spring 2018.
