The foundation Cantonal Library Uri is a fundamental institution for scholastically and professional education, for research and encounters, for culture and leisure time. It is responsible for regularly updating the stock and for the corresponding arranging service, supported by a customer-friendly infrastructure. It is open to the public.

The cantonal library Uri puts a comprehensive and varied offer at the public’s disposal: fiction and poetry, reference and specialist books, DVDs, CDs, films, games and various events for children, adolescents and adults.
