The Inventory of living traditions is available online (www.lebendige-traditionen.ch) since 2012. Uri (such as Switzerland) acceded to the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008. The canton Uri is located in the heart of Switzerland. Fascinating nature and Cultural Heritage such as characteristic villages and living traditions can be found in the region of William Tell and the Gotthard. The canton is proud of its heritage but in the meantime also open to contemporary developments. The new guide of living traditions is an excellent example for Uris pride in their traditions. The Department of Education and Culture was responsible for the content and the company Baumann, Fryberg and tarelli for the realization of the guide.
